π₯ THIS WEEK IN SEXTECH
π‘ Daye Ads Censored in UK
Gynae health start-up Daye's milestone out-of-home campaign launch in London has been marred by censorship, with ads featuring words like "tampon," "fertility," and images of the vaginal canal being covered up.
Sadly, this is part of a broader issue of censorship affecting discussions around women's health and menstrual products, where it is constantly prohibited on major platforms like Google, Meta, Amazon, and TikTok.
Fortunately, in this case community showed out and scrubbed off the sticker coverings - nice one Hani Lees Dresner and Florence Schechter ππ
Read on for how it unfolded on Founder Valentina Milanova πΊπ¦ 's LinkedIn post this week. π
π€ Sexist Men More Prone to Forming Sexual Relationships with Robots
Research from Connor Leshner and Jessica R Johnson from Ontario suggests a potential link between sexism and a tendency for men to form sexual relationships with robots. The study highlights a complex interplay between sexism, masculinity, and technology.
"Researchers found men were more likely to prefer a sex-bot over a robot friend, while women favoured robofriendship over sex.
That said, both men and women were "generally less interested in sex with robots," the study reads.
Meanwhile, men were significantly more likely to display hostile sexism and social dominance traits than women, suggesting "stark differences between menβs and womenβs beliefs about other groups."
