AI Love is Real, STI tech solutions, the first sextech billboard and more...

👋 HEY ALL!

Whoa, the information on AI companionship is keeping me awake this week, specifically:

Are human-human relationships and human-ai relationships on the precipice of merging?

And the big one, can we have a real love with an AI?

A 2022 study on human-AI relationships found that based on the triarchic theory of love, which suggests that romantic love is a confluence of intimacy, passion and commitment, it is possible to experience such love for an AI system.

And it's not just AI-focused companies like Replika that are working with this information.

Dating app Grindr are currently working on an AI chatbot that can engage in sexually explicit conversations with users, according to Platformer's latest newsletter.

Would you be happy with your dating app including both human and ai avatars to potentially swipe on?

Of course, exciting news in other sextech verticals like sexual health and approval of the first sex toy ad on a billboard in the US.

Making headlines this week:

  • 🤖 Yes, you can catch feelings for AI

  • 💕 Grindr are building your AI boyfriend

  • 🌆 1st Sex Toy Billboard in the U.S

  • 🧪 STI Testing in the News

🔥 THIS WEEK IN SEXTECH

🤖 Yes, you can catch feelings for AI

💕 Grindr is building your AI boyfriend

As more of Grindr slips behind the paywall, users may face a disappointing future: one with fewer free users to chat with, and an app that regularly pushes them to romance a chatbot.

🌆 1st Sex Toy Billboard in the U.S

Sexual health medical device manufacturer MysteryVibe launched its Happy Menopause campaign on Monday. The ad will be run on a billboard for the next week as part of an effort to destigmatize post-menopausal sexual wellness.

🧪 STI Testing in the News

Whether through at-home kits in New Zealand, or sites and apps like Calmara and HeHealth, solutions to the STI epidemic are beginning to see some light (and controversy) this week.
