#7 sextech industry news, this month's product drops, and so much AI
It's a bucketful of sextech 💌
Hey all!
We’ve been tinkering with the design of the newsletter for the past week… there is a lot more tinkering ahead but right now… DONE is better than perfect!
Plus we’ve got news and jobs and events we are bursting to share 🥳 👇️
Making headlines this week:
🤳 Are deepfake nudes on the rise?
🚗 Car brands are collecting data on your sexual activity
🍆 New product drops this month from OhNut and Maude
+ Plus : round-up of this week’s 🔥 jobs and mega list of global events
THIS WEEK IN SEXTECH
1. 🤳 What do we know about nudifying AI apps?
The impact of AI porn is becoming more evident by the day.
This week’s reporting covered a lot of different angles.
Giddy takes a look at deepfake pornification of your personal photos.
The Guardian’s detailed how paedophiles are using freely available AI software to create child sexual abuse material.
In Australia, the government has unveiled regulations requiring internet search engines to crack down on child sexual abuse material created by artificial intelligence.
“The online safety code announced on Friday will require services such as Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo and Yahoo to take “appropriate steps” to prevent the spread of child exploitation material, including “synthetic” images created by AI.”
Samantha Cole’s reporting on the fake “AI Smash or Pass” did at least bring some levity and underscore the absurdity of what is happening with AI.
I especially enjoyed learning about Rona Wang, a student at MIT in math and computer science, who made a parody site “FriendorFoeAI”, that rotates through a series of AI generated images of men and asks users to decide whether the man is “friend” or “foe.”
Men worry about how hot a girl is, women worry about how dangerous a guy is. Introducing FriendOrFoeAI.
