⏰ Sexual Health Ads Face Major Bias in E-Commerce Boom
Center for Intimacy Justice's new research report [Access here] has dropped!
This is the largest investigation so far into the digital suppression of sexual and reproductive health on four major tech platforms (Meta, TikTok, Amazon and Google) – and CIJ’s first report to cover 4 platforms.
The report was released and featured in WIRED on Friday. It analyzes survey responses from over 150 sexual and reproductive health nonprofits, businesses and individual content creators.
Jackie Rotman, founder and CEO of the Center for Intimacy Justice, says ending what she describes as biased censorship against women’s health would unlock valuable commercial opportunities for tech platforms, and is also simply the right thing to do. “Bots, algorithms, and employees who are not knowledgeable in this topic should not be prohibiting women’s access to important and valuable health products,” she says.
